One-Elec tells you everything you need to know about Schneider residual current circuit breakers to help you make your choice.
Choosing your Schneider circuit breaker model
There are different types of models and different ratings of residual current circuit breakers:
- 10A or 16A circuit breakers are required for lighting circuits;
- 16A or 20A circuit breakers are used on circuits specific to electrical sockets;
- A 20A residual current device is ideal for a specialised circuit up to 4600W;
- From 7360W upwards, you will need to choose a 32A rating;
- If you exceed this power, choose a 40A rating up to 9200W.
Regarding their types:
- The AC type is intended for common electrical circuits;
- The A type protects specialised circuits (household appliances or electronic devices);
- The HI/HPI/SI types are intended for specific electrical devices that are rarely switched off.
